“The Roast of Kevin Hart” topped Netflix’s weekly television chart with 13.5 million views during the May 11–17 viewing window, according to Variety and Netflix data.
The comedy special streamed live during the third annual Netflix Is a Joke Festival before landing on the platform for on-demand viewing.
Variety reported that the special finished as Netflix’s most-watched television title of the week. The total placed Hart’s roast just behind “The Roast of Tom Brady,” which reached 13.8 million views in its first full week in 2024.
The difference marked a roughly 2% decline from the Brady special’s first-week performance, according to Variety. Brady’s roast also drew 2 million views on its first night after airing live on Netflix.
“The Roast of Kevin Hart” featured a celebrity lineup tied to Netflix’s live comedy push. Entertainment Weekly reported that the event included Dwayne Johnson, Tom Brady, Chelsea Handler, Shane Gillis, Jeff Ross and Sheryl Underwood.
