ISLAMABAD: The federal government has approved a Rawalpindi Army deployment of three companies for six months under Article 245, following a request from the Punjab Home Department.
The Ministry of Interior and Anti-Narcotics Control issued the order on August 21, 2026, authorising the immediate deployment of Pakistan Army personnel.
According to the order, the troops will perform security duties in Rawalpindi and assist authorities in responding to any unforeseen or undesirable situation.
The deployment was requested by the Home Department of the Government of Punjab and will be carried out in accordance with the requirements identified by the district administration.
The order authorises three Army companies to remain deployed for six months.
