ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday filed an Imran Khan contempt plea in the Supreme Court, alleging authorities failed to comply with its August 18 hospital-transfer order.
The petition asked the court to issue show-cause notices to those allegedly responsible for violating the order and summon them in their personal capacity for contempt proceedings.
PTI also sought directions for the immediate transfer of its jailed founder to Shifa International Hospital for medical examination, according to the petition.
The party requested that a judicial officer or local commission be appointed to oversee compliance with the Supreme Court’s directions.
PTI lawyers Aziz Bhandari and Salman Akram Raja filed the petition before the Supreme Court.

Speaking to reporters outside the court, Raja alleged contempt and accused authorities of creating a false narrative about the crowds surrounding the proposed hospital transfer.
He said PTI expected the court to decide the matter in accordance with the Constitution and law.
The petition concerns the Supreme Court’s August 18 order regarding Khan’s medical transfer. The filing reflects PTI’s allegation of non-compliance; however, the Supreme Court has yet to find contempt.
