Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug was arrested in Texas on Friday, August 21, on allegations of driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession and unlawful firearm possession.
The rapper, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested by the Allen Police Department and booked into the Collin County Jail.
Landum is accused of possessing less than two ounces of marijuana and unlawfully possessing a firearm in addition to the DWI allegation. Authorities had not disclosed what led to the traffic stop or arrest.
The marijuana and standard first-offence DWI allegations are Class B misdemeanours under Texas law. It describes the reported firearm charge as a Class A misdemeanour. Landum has been charged but not convicted.
The firearm allegation follows a separate August 2025 arrest in which police accused Landum of unlawfully possessing a gun and a small amount of marijuana. He was released in that case after a $5,000 bond was set.
Landum was also arrested on a marijuana possession charge in February 2025, though the case was later dismissed.
The latest arrest has affected his performance schedule. Organisers of Country Rising said BigXthaPlug would no longer appear because of a “personal emergency.”
