DALLAS, Texas: The Dallas Wings beat the Indiana Fever 91-85 on August 20, with Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark involved in a tense exchange before halftime.
With under 10 seconds left in the second quarter, Bueckers grabbed Clark’s left arm as Dallas used a foul to stop the possession.
Clark reacted by firing the ball downcourt, with it passing near Bueckers before both teams headed to the locker room. Bueckers received a common foul on the play.
Later, officials assessed her a technical foul in the third quarter after she argued a separate call involving Clark. Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 32 points, while Bueckers recorded eight assists.

Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell scored 37 points for Indiana. Clark finished with a team-high nine assists. The teams had also met the previous week, when Clark and Bueckers each scored 29 points in Indiana’s 98-87 victory.
After that game, Clark praised Bueckers as a difficult defensive assignment and highlighted her ability to create for teammates.
