MANAMA: Bahrain and Kuwait sirens and alerts sounded Thursday after the US struck about 90 targets in Iran for a second consecutive night, regional authorities said.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said warning sirens sounded across the country. It urged citizens and residents to stay calm and move to the nearest safe place.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s army said air defences were intercepting hostile missile and drone attacks. The Kuwaiti General Staff said explosion sounds came from air defence systems.
Qatar also issued a brief security alert, telling residents to stay indoors. Later, Qatari authorities said the danger had passed.

US Central Command said its forces hit about 90 Iranian military targets along Iran’s coastline. CENTCOM said the strikes targeted air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets and missile storage sites.
It said the operation also hit drone storage sites, naval capabilities and logistics infrastructure. The command said the strikes were aimed at reducing Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian media reported explosions in Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Chabahar, Konarak and Iranshahr. Reports also cited blasts in Sirik, Jask, Abu Musa Island, Qeshm Island and Aqqala.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it targeted US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The IRGC named Camp Arifjan, Ali Al Salem airbase, Juffair and Sheikh Isa bases. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that “bullying and breaking promises” were no longer without cost.
Brent crude rose 1% to $78.80 a barrel as traders watched traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
