Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about her breakup with NBA player Klay Thompson, saying she had begun losing herself before their relationship ended in April 2026.
Speaking in InStyle’s September cover interview, published September 9, Megan described the split as “very rough” and said she had tried to make herself fit into someone else’s life. “I was losing myself a little bit,” she said.
Megan and Thompson went public with their relationship in July 2025. On April 25, she announced their breakup and posted an Instagram Story appearing to accuse Thompson of cheating. In a separate statement to People, she said trust, fidelity and respect were “non-negotiable” for her.
In the new interview, the 31-year-old Grammy winner said she would no longer allow a relationship to diminish her identity, career or independence. She said future relationships would need to be equal partnerships that respected her work and autonomy.
