Megan Thee Stallion says she wants to make herself synonymous with summer, inspired by Mariah Carey’s long-running association with Christmas.
The rapper told InStyle in a new cover story interview that she wants to become the “Mariah of Summer,” pointing to Carey’s dominance of the holiday season.
Megan coined the phrase “hot girl summer” in 2019 and released a song of the same name that year featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. The track reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
She expanded the brand further in 2024 with the Hot Girl Summer Tour in support of her “Megan” album.
