WhatsApp pinned messages can now reach four per conversation for some Android beta testers. This expands the previous three-message limit in individual and group chats.
WABetaInfo said on September 5 that the feature appeared with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.35.8, distributed through the Google Play Store. However, availability remains limited as WhatsApp rolls it out gradually to beta accounts.
Users can pin text or other supported messages to a banner at the top of a conversation. WhatsApp allows pins to remain for 24 hours, seven days or 30 days. Additionally, group administrators can control whether members are permitted to pin messages.
The additional slot is aimed particularly at active group chats. In these chats, several announcements, schedules or other reference messages may need to remain accessible simultaneously.
WhatsApp’s Help Centre has already been updated to state that users can pin up to four messages. Nevertheless, WABetaInfo says the new limit is still being rolled out to Android beta testers. WhatsApp has not announced a date for a wider stable rollout.

No separate release date has been announced for iOS, Windows, Mac or WhatsApp Web.
