PARIS, France: The Benouaich UFC Paris win came by technical submission as French strawweight Delphine Benouaich choked Sofia Montenegro unconscious at 4:22 of Round 2 on Saturday.
The bout opened the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs Parnasse at Accor Arena, where both fighters were making their official UFC debuts. The UFC listed Benouaich at 7-2 and Montenegro at 6-2 entering the fight.
Montenegro landed effectively in the early competitive exchanges, while Benouaich repeatedly pressed forward. In the second round, Benouaich dropped the Argentine with a right hand before advancing to mount and landing punches and elbows.

Montenegro turned while trying to escape the ground attack, allowing Benouaich to take her back and secure a rear-naked choke. Montenegro did not tap and lost consciousness, prompting the referee to stop the contest. Medical personnel entered the Octagon after the stoppage.

The victory lifted Benouaich’s professional record to 8-2. The French fighter reached the strawweight semifinals of The Ultimate Fighter 34 before making her promotional debut in Paris.

Montenegro fell to 6-3. She earned a UFC contract after losing a split decision to Jeisla Chaves on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 9 on September 23, 2025, when UFC officials awarded contracts to both women.
