TikTok has published its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2024, revealing that it took action against over 20 million videos during this period.
Between January and March 2024, TikTok addressed 20,207,878 videos in Pakistan for violating its Community Guidelines. These guidelines apply universally to all content and users to foster a safe, inclusive, and authentic environment.
The company employs advanced technology and human oversight to scrutinize and take appropriate action against content that breaches these guidelines.
The global data from the report indicates that TikTok removed 166,997,307 videos, accounting for 0.9% of all uploads. Automated processes identified and removed 129,335,793 of these videos, while reviews reinstated 6,042,287 videos.
In addition, the platform removed 976,479,946 comments using its comment safety tools and deleted 21,639,414 accounts suspected of being under the age requirement.
TikTok has also intensified its efforts to curb the proliferation of automated spam accounts.
The company emphasizes its commitment to transparency, safety, and inclusivity. “This report underscores our efforts to maintain trust and provide a secure environment for our global community,” stated TikTok.
This report’s periodic publication illuminates the extent and nature of the platform’s content and account management actions. Moreover, TikTok has pledged to continue providing summaries of the Covert Influence Operations (CIO) networks it has dismantled, with detailed reports on individual operations now available separately.
