Washington, United States: President Donald Trump of the United States said Friday he was making a final decision on a Trump-Iran deal as he announced plans to lift the Strait of Hormuz blockade.
Trump said in a social media post that he was heading to the White House Situation Room to make a “final determination.” He said Iran must agree never to develop nuclear weapons and must reopen shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. president said Iran would immediately remove mines from the Strait of Hormuz. He also said the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports would be lifted, allowing oil and other tankers to move.
It was not immediately clear from Trump’s statement whether Iran had accepted the terms or whether the blockade had already been lifted.
Trump said Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles would be located and destroyed by the United States in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The statement followed reports that Iran had sought financial compensation linked to the conflict. Trump said no money would be exchanged “until further notice.”

The U.S. president added that only items of “far less importance” had been agreed to so far, leaving the final status of the proposed deal unresolved.
