ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism on Friday, saying more than 90,000 citizens had died and economic losses exceeded USD 150 billion.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the statement as Pakistan observed the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism.
The ministry said Pakistan had made “unprecedented sacrifices in blood and treasure” while fighting terrorism at home and supporting regional security.
Meanwhile, MoFA said terrorist groups were increasingly using emerging technologies and cyberspace to extend their reach and carry out more sophisticated attacks.
The ministry also said Pakistan faced disinformation, misinformation, what it termed hydro-terrorism and extraterritorial assassination campaigns.

According to MoFA, 2025 was among Pakistan’s deadliest years in more than a decade. It alleged that some attacks were planned, financed or directed from sanctuaries across the border with support from hostile elements in neighbouring countries.
The ministry did not identify specific states in the statement. Pakistan also called on the international community to support terrorism victims and survivors without discrimination or double standards.

Separately, MoFA reiterated support for the right to self-determination of Palestinians and Kashmiris in what Pakistan officially refers to as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The ministry said unresolved conflicts and foreign occupation could be exploited by extremist groups and called for stronger international cooperation against terrorism.
