Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq suffered a low-grade calf strain during the second Test against England at Lord’s, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed on Friday.
The left-handed batter injured his left calf while fielding on the opening day on Thursday. Subsequent scans confirmed the strain, according to a PCB press release.
Imam is receiving treatment under the supervision of Pakistan’s medical team. The PCB said his participation in the remainder of the Test would depend on how he responds to treatment.
Salman Ali Agha replaced Imam in the field after the injury. Salman, who captained Pakistan in the opening Test at Headingley but was not selected in the Lord’s playing XI, entered as a substitute.
He later took a one-handed catch to dismiss Jordan Cox for 55 off Khurram Shahzad’s bowling. Cox faced 105 deliveries and struck seven fours.

Imam scored 42 in the first innings of the opening Test at Headingley before being dismissed for a duck in the second innings. Pakistan lost that match by an innings and 103 runs.
