Samsung is planning to launch its Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, and a recent report suggests a significant redesign. According to Android Authority, an internal build of One UI 8 indicates that Samsung may replace the standard Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus models with the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Recent leaks referred to the Galaxy S26 lineup using the codenames NP1, NP2, and NP3, indicating a theme of “Next Paradigm.” However, the most recent One UI 8 firmware reveals new codenames: M1, M2, and M3, which correspond to the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, respectively. This change suggests that Samsung is planning to phase out the standard model entirely and replace the Plus variant with an Edge model.

This is what we currently know about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra:

The Pro model is anticipated to come with enhanced internal components, placing it above the current entry-level Galaxy S25. The Edge variant might introduce distinct design features, while the Ultra model will continue to be the premium option. These upgrades could result in increased price points throughout the lineup.

Samsung’s rebranding aims to enhance the premium appeal of its flagship series. By concentrating on the Pro and Edge variants, the company is targeting consumers who are interested in advanced features, positioning itself to compete more directly with rivals like Apple. This shift also demonstrates Samsung’s response to market trends that favour high-end devices.

The potential overhaul of the Galaxy S26 series could redefine Samsung’s flagship strategy, impacting consumer choices and market competition. For accurate updates on tech developments, rely on trusted sources to avoid misinformation.
