Maria Bartiromo’s Fox exit coverage drew her first public response Thursday as the longtime television journalist thanked supporters one week after Fox News Media announced it had parted ways with her.
Bartiromo posted on X on September 10, a day before her 59th birthday. She said she was grateful for messages of support and added, “More to come.”
Fox said on September 3 that it had parted ways with Bartiromo after more than 12 years at the network, effective that day.
The company did not give a reason for the departure. However, Bartiromo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, later challenged reports characterising the development as a firing.
He said claims that she was fired or was no longer a Fox employee were “absolutely and unequivocally false.” Fox had thanked Bartiromo for her work and wished her well in what it described as her “next chapter.”

Bartiromo joined Fox in 2014 after working at CNBC. She hosted “Mornings with Maria,” while her other Fox Business programme, “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” has since been renamed “FBN’s Wall Street.”
President Donald Trump also reacted to reports of her departure, praising Bartiromo in a Truth Social post and calling her a “total professional.”
