KURRAM, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Pakistan security forces killed four militants in a Kurram operation, including a man identified by security sources as Afghan national Ubaidullah Saad, state media reported Friday.
The intelligence-based operation targeted militants described by Pakistani authorities as affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, according to Radio Pakistan.
Security sources identified Saad as the son of Ghulam Ghaus Salehi and a resident of Shah Qila village in Afghanistan’s Logar province. They alleged that he had been involved in multiple militant activities inside Pakistan.
The reported operation follows a series of security actions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier this month. On September 6, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces had killed 21 militants in operations conducted from September 3 to 5.

ISPR said 10 militants were killed in North Waziristan, taking the reported death toll from an earlier infiltration attempt to 25. Seven more were killed in another North Waziristan clash, while four were killed in operations in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan.
Pakistani security officials have said operations against militants attempting to operate across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border will continue.
