Peshawar: Peshawar and Nowshera districts received first pre-monsoon heavy rain on early hours of Thursday, turning the weather pleasant.
According to Met Office, Peshawar City received 40milimeter rain followed by Cherat in Nowshera 38mm, Peshawar A/P 31mm, Kakul Abbottabad and Malamjabba Swat 5mm and Dir 3mm respectively.
The long awaited rain has provided some respite to the citizens from the sizzling heat and enjoyed pleasant change in the weather.
The people especially youth came out from homes despite Ramzan and is being seen busy in Eidul Fitr shopping. The people along with families and children also visited parks and enjoyed pleasant change in the weather.
The Met Office predicted more rain-thundershower at scattered places in Upper Khyber Pakthunkhwa including Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu and Upper Fata in next 24 hours.
The seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending eastwards. Light to moderate moist currents are penetrating into upper and central parts of the country and is likely to continue during next 24 hours.
The clouds is still hovering over the sky in Peshawar and more chances of rain is forecasted for Peshawar by the Met office in next 24 hours.
The agriculturists have termed the present rainfall very useful for sowing of rice and maize crops while doctors declared it very beneficial on overcome diseases like ENT infection. – APP
