PESHAWAR, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has ended free electricity units for employees, replacing the benefit with fixed monthly cash allowances based on their pay grades.
The PESCO Board of Directors approved the monetisation of the electricity benefit and issued compensation rates for employees in grades 17 to 20.
Grade 17 employees will receive Rs 15,858 per month instead of 450 free electricity units. Grade 18 employees will get Rs 21,996 per month, replacing their entitlement to 600 units.

The monthly allowance for Grade 19 employees has been fixed at Rs 37,954, replacing 880 free units. Grade 20 officers will receive Rs 46,992 per month instead of 1,100 electricity units.
PESCO said the monetisation policy would remain subject to the applicable rules, regulations and conditions prescribed under directives issued by the Federal Power Division
