Islamabad, Pakistan: Petrol pump owners in Pakistan have demanded a monthly review of fuel prices as frequent price changes are creating financial and administrative problems for fuel retailers.
The association said regular fluctuations in petroleum prices were hurting business stability. Consequently, it was making it harder for dealers to manage operations.
The owners said a monthly pricing mechanism would give fuel dealers and consumers a more predictable market. They urged the authorities to review the existing petroleum pricing framework without delay.

In May, the All Pakistan Petroleum Pump Owners Association had asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to withdraw the weekly pricing policy and restore the previous 15-day schedule. The association said frequent changes had created accounting, customer-dealing and operational difficulties.
Association Vice Chairperson Nouman Ali Butt wrote to the prime minister, calling the weekly system a burden on fuel station operators. He also warned that it was weakening confidence in the petroleum market.
Petrol pump owners warned of a nationwide protest campaign if their demands are not met. They said responsibility for any escalation would rest with the authorities if the matter remained unresolved.
