Israeli strikes hit Tyre in southern Lebanon on Tuesday after Iran warned Israel to stop attacks in Lebanon.
Lebanese media first reported at least three deaths, while later reports cited the Lebanese Health Ministry as saying eight people were killed and 32 were injured. The Israel Defence Forces issued an evacuation order for the city of Tyre.
Arab News reported that the order covered the entire city, including its historic Christian quarter and nearby Palestinian refugee camps. Residents fled north toward the Zahrani River as strikes continued.
The Associated Press said Christian leaders in Tyre appealed for international action after Israel warned the city. Doctors Without Borders suspended its regional operations due to chaotic displacement.
The BBC reported that Iran said it would pause further action if Israel stopped attacking Lebanon. Israel said it was targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and accused the Iran-backed group of violating ceasefire terms.

The Guardian reported that Lebanese officials said Israeli strikes on Tyre killed at least eight people and wounded more than 30.
Hezbollah claimed attacks on Israeli military assets inside Lebanese territory. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defence officials rejected Iran’s conditions, according to the brief.
