KARACHI, Sindh: A local court on Friday acquitted Natasha Danish in the drug-use case linked to the 2024 Karsaz Road crash, ruling that the prosecution failed to prove the charge.
Judicial Magistrate (East) heard the case on September 4, with defence lawyer Fawad Ali Khichi representing Danish. The case had been registered under Section 11 of the Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order, 1979.
Khichi told reporters that chemical examinations and Danish’s blood sample did not show methamphetamine. Court records from her earlier bail proceedings, however, showed that while the blood sample was negative, a urine sample detected methamphetamine, creating a contradiction between the two reports.
Police had registered the separate drug case in August 2024 after officials said medical testing indicated that Danish had been under the influence of methamphetamine, commonly known as crystal meth, when the crash occurred.

The August 19, 2024 crash on Karsaz Road, Karachi, killed 60-year-old Imran Arif and his daughter Amna Arif and injured three others. Danish was arrested after the Toyota Land Cruiser she was driving struck motorcycles and another vehicle.
Danish had already been acquitted in the main accident case on October 31, 2024, after the victims’ family submitted a compromise before the sessions court.
