Railways Minister Saad Rafique has claimed that government is in contact with PTI and PAT leadership to prevent their anti-government campaigns.
“The government is ready for talks and we are in contact with Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri to find solution to their issues and address their concerns,” said the minister while addressing a gathering at Allam Iqbal’s mausoleum in Lahore in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
He said Imran Khan should come to the negotiating table as political issues cannot be resolved on the streets or through sit-ins. “We are in state war so must refrain from confrontation,” the PML-N stalwart said.
“If he supports negotiations with Taliban why can’t he talk to the government… Doors of negotiations are open for him,” he said, adding that government would also take other political parties on board on the issue of Long March on August 14.
