Gilgit, Gilgit-Baltistan: The latest GB election results gave the Pakistan Peoples Party 11 seats after the Chief Election Commissioner, Raja Shahbaz Khan, decided three pending petitions on Wednesday.
Khan declared Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Attaullah the winner from GBA-16 Diamer-II. He also declared Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Malik Kefayat the winner from GBA-17.
The election chief also decided GBA-13 Astore-I in favour of a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate. Rival candidates had challenged Form-47 results before the Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission.
Khan had earlier suspended the disputed results and reserved verdicts after hearing both sides. The updated position gives the Pakistan Peoples Party 11 seats and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz six seats.
