Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Monday welcomed Japanese firm Yamaha’s decision to invest around $150 million for the establishment of a manufacturing plant near Karachi.
“Not only will the plant provide employment opportunities to over 25,000 engineers, technicians and labourers of the city but it will also help boost our automotive technologies and prove pivotal for development of the entire province,” Shah said during a meeting with the country director of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Kaoru Shiraishi, at the chief minister’s house.
Terming the move an important and encouraging step towards economic development, the CM announced 10 years tax holding and pledged full administrative support for all Japanese companies interested in investing in Sindh.
