Cameron Diaz, who is known for her roles in “Charlie’s Angels” and “The Mask,” has decided to retire from acting after completing filming on her upcoming Netflix film “Back in Action.”
Diaz, 50, to balance family life with her role as a mother to Raddix, 3, has decided to take a break from acting.
According to a source, long hours and working days have been difficult for her, and she hates being away from Raddix.
Cameron’s decision to leave performing is not altogether unexpected, given that she announced her retirement from the stage a year before Raddix’s 2019 birth.
Fans were stunned, however, when Diaz returned to acting and starred alongside Foxx in “Back in Action.” The release of Seth Gordon’s action-comedy film is set for 2024.
A source close to Diaz said that Foxx had nothing to do with her choice to leave, despite tales of friction on set, including Foxx supposedly having a tantrum and firing multiple staff members. Contrary, Foxx was the sole factor in Diaz’s decision to engage in the project, who also noted Diaz’s awareness of the need to make difficult decisions in the business.
According to the insider, Cameron “has nothing left to prove to anyone” because she has already established herself in Hollywood. Diaz and Foxx are longtime friends and have previously cooperated on projects. They both appeared in the 1999 film “Any Given Sunday,” They worked on the 2014 version of “Annie.”
According to Screen Daily, “Back in Action” was filmed in the United Kingdom between December 2, 2022, and March 9, 2023, and in Georgia between March 27 and April 14, 2023.
