The UAE has announced a week-long holiday for the public sector in observance of Eid Al Fitr 2024, per a resolution passed by the nation’s cabinet.
Federal government employees will be on leave from April 8 to April 14, Monday through Sunday, with work resuming on April 15.
As reported by the UAE Media Office on the evening of April 14, this measure enables government workers to benefit from a nine-day break, incorporating the adjacent weekend.
The official commencement of Eid will be determined by the United Arab Emirates’ moon-sighting council. While the holiday schedule for the private sector remains to be announced, it is noted that federal government employees and private sector workers typically receive an equal amount of annual leave for Eid.
