Israel-Iran attacks resumed Monday as President Donald Trump of the United States urged both countries to stop firing after new missile and air strikes shook a fragile truce.
Iran fired nearly 30 ballistic missiles toward Israel since Sunday night, according to an Israeli military official. The official said Yemen’s Houthi rebels also fired two missiles at Israel.
Israel said it struck targets in western and central Iran. Iranian state TV reported explosions in Tehran and two other cities.
AFP journalists heard at least eight explosions over Jerusalem as Israel said it worked to intercept a new wave of Iranian missiles. Magen David Adom said it had no reports of casualties.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck Israel’s Nevatim and Tel Nof air bases. The Guards said the attack was in response to Israeli strikes on radar sites in Iran.

Iranian media said Israel hit the Karun Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr, southwestern Iran. The Revolutionary Guards said they later targeted industrial facilities in Haifa.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei blamed the United States for the renewed fighting. He said the escalation would affect talks aimed at ending the war.
Baqaei said diplomatic exchanges through Pakistani mediators were continuing. Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Tehran over the weekend with messages from Pakistan’s leadership, according to Iranian state television.
