KYIV, Ukraine: President Volodymyr Zelensky met US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on Sunday as Washington renewed efforts to negotiate an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The meeting followed more than three hours of talks between the two envoys and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday.
A White House official said the Moscow discussions covered possible next steps in the peace process. Zelensky said European national security advisers would join part of the discussions in Kyiv.
The visit marks Witkoff and Kushner’s first trip to the Ukrainian capital in their current mediation role. Kremlin foreign policy adviser.

Yuri Ushakov described Saturday’s Moscow talks as frank and said the US delegation presented ideas for a possible agreement.
He also said Putin remained confident Russia could achieve its military objectives. Russia and Ukraine separately agreed to suspend attacks on each other’s capitals during the diplomatic visits.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin ordered a three-day halt to strikes on Kyiv, while Zelensky said Ukraine would refrain from attacking Moscow through Monday.
The arrangement does not amount to a broader ceasefire. Zelensky said Ukraine remained ready for negotiations but wanted security guarantees and a peace settlement that preserved the country’s dignity.
