Tom Hardy’s “MobLand” future is uncertain after reports claimed the actor may not return for later seasons of the Paramount crime drama.
Puck News reported that tensions developed during filming between Hardy and producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser.
The reports claimed Hardy was sometimes late on set and had concerns over script changes and dialogue. They also said he was unhappy with how the series divided attention among its large cast.
Paramount and Hardy have not issued official statements on the reported exit. The studio may continue the show without him in season three if the issues remain unresolved.
Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a central figure in the show’s crime storyline. His role has been a major part of the series, which also stars Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Joanne Froggatt and Paddy Considine.
“MobLand” season one earned about 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. Season two is expected later this year, but Paramount has not announced an official release date.
