Temperatures across Pakistan are rising sharply, with mercury climbing in several parts of Sindh and Balochistan, and some areas are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius or higher.
The Met Office forecast Sibi in Balochistan could reach 44 degrees Celsius today. In Sindh, Sukkur may climb to 43 degrees, Dadu to 42, Mithi to 41 and Hyderabad to 40.
The latest forecast points to intense daytime heat in the southern parts of the country. Karachi is expected to remain relatively lower than inland areas, but the city could still record a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius.
The rising mercury reflects a broader warming pattern now building across much of Sindh. Officials have said conditions are likely to stay dry in the coming days.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department earlier said weather patterns were shifting in a way that would keep much of Sindh dry while raising temperatures.
According to the forecast, conditions in Sindh are expected to remain stable but increasingly warm. The department also said Karachi’s daytime temperature was likely to begin rising from April 10, with highs reaching 34 degrees Celsius or more.

Warmer conditions in parts of Punjab. Multan and Sargodha are expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, while Dera Ghazi Khan and Lahore could climb to 36 degrees.
These figures show that the heat is not limited to Sindh and Balochistan. Temperatures are also trending upward in central and southern Punjab.
The PMD indicated that the current upward trend could intensify later in the month. That raises the possibility of heatwave conditions by the end of April if the warming pattern continues.
