LAHORE, Punjab: Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh’s resignation from the Lahore High Court was submitted on Thursday, with the judge citing personal reasons for leaving office.
Justice Sheikh sent his resignation letter to the President of Pakistan. He was ranked 27th on the Lahore High Court seniority list at the time of his resignation.
Justice Sheikh joined the Lahore High Court (LHC) as a judge on May 7, 2021. He was due to retire on January 20, 2036.

Before his elevation to the bench, he practised law in areas including human rights, public law, white-collar crime, commercial law, taxation and regulatory matters.
Justice Sheikh is the son of senior lawyer Akram Sheikh, a former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
There are no further details about the personal reasons behind his resignation or when it will formally take effect.
