Steve Kerr will remain with the Golden State Warriors for two more seasons after signing an extension, keeping the head coach in place after another missed playoff run.
The Steve Kerr Warriors decision comes after Golden State missed the playoffs for the second time in three years.
Kerr said he did not have a strong coaching season and admitted the Warriors became “a little too loose” with the ball and their overall approach.
“I gotta tighten the ship up next year,” Kerr said, pointing to age, injuries and rest as factors behind the team’s uneven season.

The Warriors’ offseason focus now shifts to Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and possible roster changes around the remaining core from the franchise’s 2015-2022 dynasty.
Curry may have more reason to stay with Kerr returning, while Green’s future appears less certain as he enters his age-37 season.
Golden State had the third-worst turnovers-per-game average in the National Basketball Association last season, while Green averaged 2.7 turnovers in 27.5 minutes per game.
