Shakira performed a free concert at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach on Saturday night, with Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere estimating a crowd of two million people.
The nearly three-hour performance featured some of Shakira’s biggest hits, including “Hips Don’t Lie,” “Waka Waka,” “Whenever, Wherever,” and “She Wolf.” She closed the show with “BZRP Music Sessions #53/66,” a collaboration with Bizarrap. The concert also featured special appearances from Brazilian stars Anitta, Caetano Veloso, and Maria Bethânia.
The concert was part of Rio de Janeiro’s growing Todo Mundo no Rio series, following similar free shows by Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga in 2025. The event generated an estimated R$800 million ($161 million) for the local economy, boosting businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and transport services.
