Australia beat Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs at Great Barrier Reef Stadium in Mackay on Sunday, with Mitchell Starc taking 10 wickets in the match as the hosts levelled the series 1-1.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 95 in 38.3 overs in their second innings after managing only 46 in the first.
Starc took four wickets in the second innings to finish with match figures of 10-51, while off-spinner Nathan Lyon claimed three wickets.
Bangladesh had dismissed Australia for 210 and needed another 146 runs to force the hosts to bat again. Instead, they slipped to 39-3 by lunch before another middle-order collapse.
Lyon completed the victory immediately after the tea break, taking the final two wickets in three deliveries.
Australia’s win followed a nine-wicket defeat in Darwin in the opening match of the two-Test series.
All-rounder Cameron Green, who top-scored for Australia with 67, said the response after the first-Test defeat was “pretty special.”
