CUPERTINO, United States: Apple launched the iPhone Duo at a starting price of USD 1,999, entering the foldable smartphone market with a passport-shaped device that opens to a 7.6-inch display.
The iPhone Duo uses Apple’s A20 Pro processor and a new in-house C2 modem chip. Apple said the device supports 24 hours of mixed dual-screen use and can reach 50% charge in about 20 minutes.
Apple designed the phone with a titanium body, custom hinge and a smaller external display for use while folded. When opened, the company says it becomes its thinnest iPhone.
Chief Executive John Ternus positioned the larger screen for productivity. Apple demonstrated multiple app windows, wider Slack views and Zoom calls with several participants.

Ternus also emphasised privacy in Apple’s artificial-intelligence strategy. He said Apple Intelligence would process data on the device whenever possible.
Apple also announced the iPhone 18 Pro starting at USD 1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at USD 1,299. New AirPods with noise cancellation start at USD 129.
