Punjab has launched a Punjab marriage certificate service at 15 e-Khidmat centres to help citizens obtain marriage documents through designated service points.
The service has been introduced under the Punjab Information Technology Board. Officials said the facility is meant to simplify marriage registration by offering a faster and more secure process.
The designated e-Khidmat centres will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm for applicants seeking marriage certificates.
Citizens can also obtain information through the official e-Khidmat website or by calling the helpline at 1317.
The National Database and Registration Authority earlier issued guidance on obtaining marriage certificates through local union councils.
Every married couple is required to register the marriage with the relevant union council.
Required documents include the Nikah Nama, copies of the bride and groom’s national identity cards, copies of parents’ identity cards and copies of witnesses’ identity cards.
Either the bride or groom may visit the union council office to complete the registration process.
Union council staff verify submitted documents, enter marriage details into the official system and provide a proof-reading printout before issuing the certificate.
The digital service is also available through the NADRA Pak ID mobile application in selected areas, including Chakwal, Nankana Sahib, Quetta and Karachi East.
