Lahore : Punjab Government and China are working on several mega power projects with a total power generation capacity of nearly four thousand megawatts.
This was stated by the Punjab Secretary for Energy Dr. Asad Gillani while briefing a ten member delegation of Chinese Experts in Lahore on Saturday. He said that the power generation of one thousand megawatts will be secured from Quaid e Azam Solar Park near Bahawalpur by end of next year.
He said that work is also underway on a twelve hundred megawatts power project at Sheikhupura. He said that four hundred megawatts electricity can be generated in Punjab through small hydel projects. On the occasion, the Chinese experts showed interest in investing in the energy sector of Punjab. The head of delegation appreciated the efforts of Punjab government for end of energy crises.
