Pakistan’s heatwave conditions intensified on Tuesday, with Dadu recording 48°C, the highest maximum temperature reported by the Met Office.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said most areas of the country were experiencing extreme hot and dry weather. Jacobabad and Sibi recorded 47°C.
Temperatures reached 45°C in Jhang, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan districts, according to the Met Office.

Lahore recorded a maximum temperature of 43°C, while Peshawar reached 42°C and Islamabad touched 41°C.
Karachi recorded 36°C, but the Met Office said the feel-like temperature reached 45°C.
The PMD had earlier issued a heatwave alert for June 7 to June 12, 2026. It forecast extreme heat in Sindh and Balochistan and moderate heat in Punjab.

The Met Office advised citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight. It also urged people to take precautions and stay hydrated during the heatwave.
