Islamabad, Pakistan, has avoided the diplomatic isolation sought by India despite a decade-long push by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Al Jazeera has reported.
Pakistan remains a close strategic partner of China. It also said Islamabad has re-emerged as a trusted partner of the United States.
Analysts cited by Al Jazeera said Pakistan used key geopolitical events to regain diplomatic space. They pointed to Islamabad’s role in US-Iran mediation and regional security talks.
Nearly 10 years after Modi vowed to isolate Pakistan after a 2016 attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan-India ties remain frozen after the May 2025 conflict. Pakistan said it downed Indian aircraft and drones during the 87-hour confrontation.
The war ended on May 10, 2025, after a ceasefire. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said Washington helped broker the truce.

Al Jazeera said India failed to convince the world of Pakistan’s alleged role in the Pahalgam attack.
Pakistan also has strong ties with Bangladesh, China and the Gulf states. Saudi Arabia signed a mutual defence pact with Pakistan in September 2025.
