LeBron James destinations for next season have reached 10 realistic teams after the 41-year-old told the Los Angeles Lakers he will leave in free agency, agent Rich Paul said.
Paul discussed the options on the “Game Over” podcast. He said calls from NBA teams reflected respect for James’ career and expected level entering his 24th season.
A whiteboard shown during the podcast listed the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves as logical fits.
Paul also mentioned the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks. He said James would have gone to the Knicks if New York had not won the NBA title last month.
Philadelphia drew attention after reportedly landing Jaylen Brown from Boston in a deal that cannot become official until NBA free-agency rules allow.
Paul said a 76ers lineup with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and Brown would have James’ attention.

He also discussed Miami, Denver and Minnesota as possible fits. Paul said long-shot teams would not be on the board if they had no chance.
He also hinted that James may not treat the coming season as his final year. ESPN reported that James informed the Lakers he plans to play elsewhere in 2026-27.
