LeBron James 76ers speculation grew after Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley said Philadelphia would be a strong landing spot if James wants to “go out with a bang.”
Barkley commented on a football camp at Haddonfield High School in New Jersey, when asked what he would say to James about joining the 76ers.
“I think it is one of the greatest sports towns in the world,” Barkley said. Barkley added that bringing a championship to Philadelphia would make James “remembered forever.” He also disagreed with NBA player Josh Hart’s reported view of the city.

The remarks followed wider speculation over James’ 24th NBA season. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers are possible destinations.
NBA insider Shams Charania said on Stephen A. Smith’s “Straight Shooter” podcast that James was taking the 76ers “very seriously” as a possible landing spot.
