Lahore Police registered a fresh FIR over the vehicle crash linked to the rescue of two foreign women. These women were allegedly kidnapped, extorted and sexually assaulted in the city.
Police said the new case relates to the collision near Bhatta Chowk. It remains separate from the main investigation into the alleged crimes against the Spanish and Dutch nationals.
The FIR was lodged at Lahore’s Defence Police Station on the complaint of Usman, the driver of a vehicle damaged in the crash.
Usman told police he was travelling from a private housing society toward Bhatta Chowk when another vehicle hit his car on Airport Road. The other vehicle then fled the scene.
According to the FIR, the collision caused damage estimated at around Rs300,000. Usman said he called the emergency helpline 15 times before the police reached the spot.
Investigators said the two foreign women got out of the suspects’ vehicle after the crash and ran into a nearby shop. Police said they later reached the scene and rescued them.
