ISLAMABAD: An Adiala Jail report submitted Monday told the Supreme Court that Imran Khan’s affected eye had “almost regained normal vision” after treatment by ophthalmologists in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The two-page filing came from the superintendent of Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Punjab. It included a summary of 39 specialist check-ups conducted between Nov. 4, 2023, and Aug. 10, 2026.
The report said government doctors examined the 73-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder. Medical officers also checked his food and drinks three times daily and maintained consultation records.
Khan’s lawyer and court-appointed amicus curiae, Salman Safdar, previously informed the court that doctors had diagnosed central retinal vein occlusion, or CRVO.
However, Khan’s personal physician, Dr Aasim Yusuf, questioned earlier claims of improvement in February. He said he could not verify them without examining Khan directly.

The superintendent said Khan and his wife met every Tuesday under jail rules, for a total of 84 meetings. The report also listed Safdar’s visits on Feb. 10 and April 4, 2026.
The filing cited PTI leader Salman Akram Raja’s assurance to the Islamabad High Court. He had promised to avoid media talks inside the jail after meetings.
The jail report alleged that later statements violated the order and stirred public sentiment against the judiciary, foreign policy and law enforcement agencies.
Khan has remained imprisoned since August 2023. He and the PTI deny wrongdoing in the cases against him.
A three-member Supreme Court bench led by Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the health and meeting petitions on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Justices Naeem Afghan and Ishtiaq Ibrahim will join the bench.
