LAHORE, Punjab: The Lahore foreign women assault case saw three more suspects remanded into police custody for five days by a judicial magistrate on Monday.
The suspects were produced before the magistrate at the Cantonment Courts after investigators arrested them in the case.
Police said the three men worked as private security guards and domestic employees of the principal suspects already in custody.
The prosecution sought a 14-day physical remand, saying weapons allegedly used in the offence had yet to be recovered.
The prosecutor also said medical examinations were needed to determine the suspects’ ages as part of the investigation.
The magistrate asked the suspects whether they wanted to make a statement before passing the order. The accused declined to comment and told the court they had no legal counsel.
Police have so far arrested all eight suspects nominated in the case involving the alleged abduction and sexual assault of a Venezuelan woman and a Dutch woman. The victims were recovered by police and left Pakistan on July 3.
