Karachi reported another mpox case after a 35-year-old Landhi resident tested positive, raising the city’s confirmed total to 11, health authorities said.
Hospital officials said the patient, a resident of Mohabbat Nagar in Landhi, was admitted to the isolation ward at Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital NIPA.
The hospital administration said the man visited the facility on Saturday after showing symptoms linked to mpox. A PCR test later confirmed the infection.
Officials said the patient had no recent travel history.
With the latest infection, the number of mpox patients reported at Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital NIPA has risen to eight.
The new case follows an earlier confirmed infection in a 40-year-old resident of Gulistan-e-Johar. Hospital officials said that the patient also had no recent travel history and was admitted after a PCR test confirmed mpox.

Health authorities said both patients are being monitored. They advised people to seek medical attention if they develop symptoms linked to the virus.
Mpox can spread through close contact with an infected person, contaminated materials or infected animals. Common symptoms include fever, swollen lymph nodes and a skin rash.
