DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: Dubai Click and Travel was officially launched Monday, allowing immigration officers to complete passenger entry and departure procedures on mobile devices in about 12 to 15 seconds.
The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai said the portable system combines biometric checks, facial recognition, electronic passport reading and automated pre-screening through a secure communications network.
Unlike fixed passport-control counters, officers can use the devices throughout airport halls, allowing immigration teams to respond to queues, congestion and peak passenger volumes.

— صحيفة الخليج (@alkhaleej) September 7, 2026GDRFA said 31,373 passengers were processed during the expanded trial between May and the end of August 2026. An earlier pilot began at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport in October 2025 before testing expanded to all passenger categories in May.

The service is available to UAE citizens, residents, Gulf Cooperation Council nationals and visitors, according to GDRFA.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, announced the rollout at Dubai International Airport alongside Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti, Assistant Director General for Airport Affairs.
