The SP jails throughout Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad have been removed from their position, as reported on Friday.
According to sources, ‘jail superintendent’ is a grade-19 officer but the removed officers were grade-18 officers who were discharging their duties as grade-19 officers.
The removed officers included Nazir Qazi of Karachi Central Jail, Yunus Masih of Hyderabad Central Jail, Superintendent of Sukkur Jail Ejaz Haider, Khairpur Central Jail Superintendent Shahid Chacharo and Larkana Central Jail Superintendent Afaq Hussain Zaidi.
Besides the five central jails superintendents, heads of eleven district jails of the province have also been removed from their positions and have been directed to report to the interior ministry.
