A special court in Islamabad indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder-chairman Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, on Thursday in the ongoing Toshakhana jewellery case.
The proceedings, overseen by Special Judge Shahrukh Arjumand of Special Court Central-I, took place at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where the charges against the couple were formally framed.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) initially filed the case. However, following recent NAB Amendments, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) assumed responsibility for the investigation. The FIA filed its formal charge sheet, a challan, in September of this year.
While both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi secured bail in this case, the situation remains complex. Bushra Bibi is not in custody, whereas Imran Khan remains incarcerated due to other ongoing legal battles.
