LAHORE: Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has submitted a Rizwan NCCIA response questioning why he was summoned and seeking the return of his mobile phone.

Rizwan sent his written reply to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) by courier and asked the agency to clarify what alleged disciplinary violation prompted its inquiry.

The development follows questioning of Rizwan and Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq at the NCCIA’s Johar Town office in Lahore on September 10. Both players sought additional time to provide further responses after being questioned about alleged dressing-room information leaks.

Investigators are also conducting forensic and technical analysis of the players’ phones and examining financial transactions before and after Pakistan’s recently concluded Test series against England, according to people familiar with the inquiry.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier taken custody of the phones before handing them to the relevant authorities for examination, according to current reporting. The NCCIA has not publicly announced any finding of unlawful financial activity by either player.

Separately, an initial disciplinary report involving Imam examines allegations of an injury during the England series, dressing-room leaks, and breaches of team discipline. No final ban has been announced.
